Client: David Ashley Developments

Location: Alfreton, Derbyshire

‘The Moorings’ is a rural, tree-lined residential development that sits in the grounds of the former Anchor Inn at Oakerthorpe and offers luxury 4 and 5 bedroom opulent homes.

The exterior palette of red-brick and Derbyshire stone has been carefully selected to minimise the impact of the buildings in the countryside, whilst reflecting local North Derbyshire rural vernacular. Two storey construction with load bearing walls and dual pitched roofs are reflective of the existing dwellings around the site but also draws inspiration from the overall residential structures throughout the Borough.

Open plan Kitchen and Living accommodation offers bi-fold doors to extend the entertaining space outdoors and provide a light and airy interior space. The exceptional specification including Chrome sockets, Oak doors throughout and quality Kitchens and Bathrooms offer a perfect balance of luxury and practicality.

Outline planning permission was granted in 2017, which was followed by an application for reserved matters in 2018 to include details of the scale, layout and access. JSA worked with the local authority to obtain full consent, and coordinated a team of consultants including drainage engineers, flood risk specialists, surveyors and ecologists.
